Basic Astronomy Courses

"The Night Sky" Evening Course

Our non-accredited basic astronomy course is designed for people new to the hobby or those who would like to broaden their knowledge about the night sky and its treasures.

The course is run by members of MSAS and covers various aspects of basic astronomy over a 6-week period, twice a year beginning in February and November. Each week will cover a different topic and, weather permitting, will include some night sky viewing through our 24” Newtonian Telescope or some of our other smaller telescopes.

The course beginning 9th February is now fully booked.

The next course starts Friday the 2nd November and runs until 7th December.

Fees for the six week course are: Adults (18 and over) £50, Juniors (under 18) £25.

Juniors under the age of 16 can only be accepted if accompanied at all times by their parent/guardian who must also be enrolled on the course. If aged under 18, but over 16, you do not have to be accompanied. However, your application must be approved by your parent/guardian by signing and dating the application form.
